MoorLine

Terms of Service

MoorLine, Inc. · moorline.com · Effective September 2, 2026 (originally August 17, 2026)

Summary

MoorLine is a free beta that manages simulated (“paper”) portfolios only. It never touches real money and never places real trades.

MoorLine is not an investment adviser or broker, and nothing in it is investment advice.

Decisions are generated by AI within programmed safety limits. AI can be wrong. Simulated results do not predict real results.

Beta software: features may change, break, or be discontinued. Use the service as intended and keep your invite code private.

1. Who we are

MoorLine (“MoorLine,” “we,” “us”) is a beta software service operated by MoorLine, Inc., a Delaware corporation. These Terms are an agreement between you and MoorLine, Inc., and you accept them by creating an account or using the service.

2. What MoorLine is

MoorLine is a software simulation of a wealth manager. Using artificial intelligence bounded by deterministic (programmed, non-AI) safety rules, it researches, proposes, and manages simulated investment portfolios: either a demo account we provide, a paper-trading brokerage account you connect, or a simulated “mirror” of a real brokerage account you link in read-only mode. Every decision it makes is recorded in a permanent log you can read.

3. What MoorLine is not

  • MoorLine is not registered as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or any other regulated financial institution, with the SEC, any state, or any other authority.
  • Nothing in the service (portfolios, theses, decisions, chat responses, or anything else) is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. It is educational and informational simulation only.
  • MoorLine never places real trades and cannot move real money. Real brokerage connections are read-only by design and enforced in code.
  • Simulated or “paper” performance is hypothetical. It does not reflect real trading costs, execution, or behavior, and does not predict or guarantee any real-world result.
  • If you want advice about real money, talk to a licensed financial professional.

4. Eligibility and invitations

You must be at least 18 and able to form a contract. The beta is invitation-only: your invite code is for you, and you agree not to post it publicly. We may approve, decline, or remove beta access at our discretion.

5. Your account

Give us accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed by someone else. You’re responsible for activity under your account.

6. Linked brokerage accounts (read-only)

If you link a real brokerage account, the connection is made through our connectivity provider in read-only mode: we can see balances, positions, and account details so we can display them and fund your simulated mirror, but we cannot trade, withdraw, or change anything in your real account. You authenticate directly with your brokerage; we never see your brokerage login. You can unlink at any time, and your brokerage relationship remains governed by your brokerage’s own terms. We are not responsible for your brokerage or for the accuracy of data it provides.

7. Paper brokerage keys

If you connect your own paper-trading account (for example, an Alpaca paper account), you’re responsible for that account and its provider’s terms. Keys you give us are stored encrypted and used only to manage that paper account.

8. Beta status, price, and changes

MoorLine is free during beta. If we later introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you clearly before anything costs money, and any Founding Member offer you claim during beta will be honored on the terms stated when you claimed it. Because this is a beta, we may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, or the whole service, at any time. We’ll do our best to give notice, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service or preserved data.

9. AI-generated content

Portfolio decisions, theses, reviews, and chat responses are generated by AI systems operating within programmed limits. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. We validate every simulated order with deterministic policy checks, but we make no promise that any decision, explanation, or piece of information is accurate.

10. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the service: no unlawful use, no attempting to breach security or access others’ accounts or data, no scraping or automated bulk access, no reverse engineering, no reselling, and no using MoorLine’s output to provide financial services to others.

11. Ownership and feedback

MoorLine (the software, design, brand, and content we generate) belongs to us. Your data belongs to you. If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them to improve the service without owing you anything (and we genuinely appreciate them).

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOORLINE AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR INVESTMENT LOSSES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS COMBINED WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS (CURRENTLY $0).

14. Indemnity

If your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to cover the resulting costs and damages.

15. Ending things

You can stop using MoorLine and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put the service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (3, 9, 11–14, 16) survive termination.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of that state.

17. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a meaningful way, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date and note it in the app. Continuing to use MoorLine after a change means you accept it.
